Leaving Mitchell County, NC Without a Car

Mitchell County (western NC mountains) has no public transit. Cheapest/quickest options without a car:

1. Rideshare/Taxi to Marion (~25 mi, 35 min) → Amtrak (Crescent line, Charlotte–New Orleans).
2. Private shuttle to Asheville AVL airport (~50 mi, 1 hr) or Greyhound in Asheville.
