Download the application for an international driving permit from the American Automobile Association at www.aaa.com (see link in Resources for PDF).
Complete the application and be sure to check the box, "International Driving Permit" for desired permit. Sign your name on the back of each of two passport-size photos.
Visit your nearest AAA branch accepting these applications or follow the instructions to mail the application. When applying in person, be sure that you have two, signed passport-size photos, driver's license, AAA membership card (if applicable) and fee. When applying by mail, be sure to include two, signed passport-size photos, a copy of the front and back of your driver's license and check for the fee.
Download, print out and complete the Medical 1A form from the Delhi Government Transport Department: transport.delhigovt.nic.in/License/license6.html.
Locate a zonal office (see Resource for directory link). Prepare five passport-size photos, authenticated (notarized) copies of your address and birth certificate, along with your valid driver's license, passport, visa and completed original Medical 1A form.
Visit the zonal office between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. local time to submit your documents and fees.
