The Oberoi Zahra & Resorts owns and operates three Egyptian cruise ships. Their Nile based vessel is called the Zahra, a large luxury ship. The cruise has itineraries that include a visit to Philae, the ancient temple complex that is widely known for being associated with Isis. The luxury ship Zahra sails seven day trips between Luxor to Aswan. The ship includes a spa, swimming pool, gym, library, private docking areas and on-call medical staff. Translators for the tours can be arranged with prior notice.
The Sonesta Cruise Lines operates five ships along the Nile. Four of the five cruise ships are built in the traditional standards, while the Sonesta Amirat was built to resemble Egypt's early 20th century luxury dahabiya vessels. The cruises travel between Luxor and Aswan average three to seven days in length. The Sonesta visits such exotic locales such as Edfu, one of Egypt's most prized and preserved temples. Although each ship offers a variety of amenities, each come with a pool, jacuzzi, spa services and a dining.
Abercrombie & Kent offers four cruises that travel along the Nile. As each ship stops over in Cairo, you will be able to visit such places as the Valley of the Kings, the actual burial place of Egyptian royalty. Cruises are three to four days in length, some are seven days long. The Sun Boat III, one of four in the fleet, offers a week long voyage, while the Sun Boat IV and Sanctuary MS Nile Adventurer offer both three and four day cruises. All ships travel between Luxor and Aswan. Standard features on the fleet include gourmet food, drink packages, exercise areas, internet service and pools.
