Carnival's "party ship" moniker has garnered it a reputation as a party cruise line for singles and young cruisers. However, Carnival is much more than that. With more than 20 ships, Carnival offers something for everyone. From elegance to family fun to a party atmosphere, Carnival cruises offer a variety of experiences. Even better, as of September, 2010, cruises aboard a Carnival vessel start as low as $179 to the Caribbean.
Every cruise line has a range of rooms to offer cruisers. The smallest, least-expensive rooms are usually interior staterooms, and rooms go up in price and area to grand suites. Carnival's smallest cabin is a category 1A room. Carnival used to regularly offer these cabins at a discounted rate of 150% off the double occupancy fare. While that practice became less common, a category 1A room can still be a good choice--and more reasonably priced--for a solo cruiser. Deals such as onboard credits, at half the amount, are often offered to single cruisers.
Like people cruising with partners, those traveling solo may want to add a hotel room to the beginning or end of a cruise. For those cruisers, Carnival provides both private, single-occupancy hotel rooms for guests purchasing single-occupancy cruise staterooms, as well as the opportunity to share a hotel room with a person of the same gender when those cruisers are receiving free accommodations and are sailing solo.
