How did the British use sea power to help them capture Philadelphia?

The capture of Philadelphia had nothing to do with the British use of sea power. Philadelphia was captured by the British in 1777 during the American War of Independence. The city was evacuated by the Americans after the Battle of Brandywine, and the British occupied the city until the end of the war.
