Specs on the 1996 Aerolite 21RB

Dutchman made the Aerolite 21RB recreational vehicle in 1996, a hitched RV with a range of features. If you're buying a 1996 Aerolite, learn what came standard and what its owners put into it after it left the factory.
  1. Basics

    • The four-wheeled Dutchmen Aerolite 21RB was 21 feet long with a skeleton of welded aluminum, lamination for the roof, floor, sidewalls and rear wall, and fiberglass on the exterior. It comes with a wide-track suspension system, heavy-duty axles and four-wheel electric drum brakes. The "RB" in "21RB" stands for "rear bed."

    Standard

    • A picture window is over the dinette, and tined, "radius corner" safety glass is installed in the rest of the windows. The furniture inside, including the dinette/sleeper and a rear couch/bed horseshoe, is framed in aluminum like the RV itself. A center dinette came standard with refrigerator, oven, pantry and cabinets. The dinette is a fold-down double bed, and many of the 21-foot Aerolites also had a full bath with tub, sink and toilet.

    Special Features

    • An exterior cook top with two burners was available on the 8-foot-wide variety of this travel-trailer, as was a pop-out tent over the hitch for added sleeping space. Other '96 Aerolite models had rear-bunk beds with hitch-topped folding bunks. Skylights were also placed in some Aerolites, such as over the tub.
