In Arizona, travel trailers can be as high as 13.5 feet and as wide as 8.5 feet. The combined length of the trailer and towing vehicle can be 65 feet, with a maximum length of 40 feet for the trailer. The weight can be no more than the manufacturer's state Gross Vehicle Weight.
If the gross weight of the travel trailer is more than 3,000 lbs., the trailer must be equipped with its own braking system. Unlike some other states, trailers in Arizona do not need fire extinguishers, flares or wipers, but they do need to have breakaway chains if they weigh more than 3,000 lbs.
Drivers operating a travel trailer in Arizona must have a class D, or standard driver's license. Travel trailers can not travel more than 75 miles an hour through the state.
