Trailer Towing Regulations in Oklahoma

  1. Measurements

    • According to Night Shift Auto the tow vehicle may not be more than 13 1/2 feet high and 8 1/2 feet wide. RVSafely confirms these dimensions. Trailers may not exceed 40 feet and motor homes may not exceed 45 feet. The combined length of the tow vehicle and trailer cannot be more than 65 feet. Triple towing is permitted if it does not exceed the maximum combined length.

    Safety Equipment

    • Safety chains, flares or reflective signs and a breakaway switch are required for trailer towing in Oklahoma. In addition, auxiliary trailer brakes are required for trailers that weigh 3,000 pounds or more.
