An Onan 4.0 carburetor powers the RV generator for supplying alternating current (AC) power at 120 volts. The generator runs on standard gasoline as its fueling source.
One main cause for carburetor problems is stale fuel. Fuel that remains in the carburetor becomes sticky and clogs its passageways. If the generator is not used frequently, exercise fuel through the system on a periodic basis. During generator storage, empty all fuel so as to prevent clogs. Replace the fuel filter periodically to prevent debris blockages within the carburetor.
Onan's carburetor operates roughly if ice forms within the assembly on humid days. Heat the incoming carburetor air by switching the generator's outside weather lever to "winter" to avoid ice build-up.
