Ask friends and families for recommendations to start. The chances are someone you know has traveled to Europe and rented a vehicle and can provide some guidance.
Search online for agencies that specialize in camper van rentals in Europe. Type in "rent campervan Europe" in any search engine.
Choose at least three companies to research. Look on each company's website to find out what they have to offer. Type in your arrival date and city and your departure date and city. Look for information on vehicle size availability, exact pick up and drop off locations and what kind of insurance policy they recommend. Most leasing agencies offer different levels of coverage insurance. Find out the minimum rental age as many agencies require drivers to be over 25.
Search to find the total cost for your vehicle for the requested time. Rates run from $780 per week for a four-person camper van, up to $1,280 per week for a seven-person RV (minimum 3 weeks), including tax and insurance, according to travel expert Rick Steves. Ask about special discounts for early booking and off-peak travel times.
After considering price, service and recommendations, book your campervan rental online or over the phone using a credit card. Ask the leasing agency to send you a confirmation receipt via e-mail and confirm that the payment has gone through on your credit card.
