Investigate the different helicopter leasing companies in your area to decide which one is best for you. Robinson Helicopter Leasing supplies helicopters throughout the United States and several other areas of the world (see Resources below).
Meet with a representative of the company, in person or by telephone, to determine the type of helicopter that is best suited for your leasing needs. Things to consider include passenger capacity, helicopter speed and endurance and the type of flight conditions in the area of your travels.
Inquire about the experience of the helicopter team that the lease company is providing. Ask if your helicopter flight crew can pilot the aircraft instead.
Check on the cost of insurance for the helicopter you lease if it is a dry lease. Contact your insurance agent to verify coverage or purchase insurance from a specialty insurance company.
Have your lawyer evaluate the helicopter lease agreement before signing it.
Sign the lease agreement with the company supplying the helicopter to you.
