How to Fold T-shirts for Travel

Of all of the things people pack in a suitcase, t-shirts merit some of the least concern. They do not require a lot of space, most are made of durable cotton, they wrinkle less than many garments and, if they do wrinkle, are relatively easy to smooth out. If you wish to minimize wrinkles and also conserve space in a suitcase, you can pack your t-shirts in an unusual fashion.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay the t-shirt face down on a flat surface, such as a bed.

    • 2

Fold the sleeves toward the center of the shirt by making a vertical fold at each shoulder. The t-shirt should now look like a long rectangle.

    • 3

Fold the rectangle in half horizontally.

    • 4

Roll the t-shirt tightly from the horizontal fold upward. By rolling the t-shirt, creases are minimized.

    • 5

Stash the t-shirt in your suitcase in or around other clothes to stabilize the rest of the contents.
