Place your jacket in a garment bag, if you have one, so that it is not necessary to fold it. If there is a dry cleaning bag over the jacket, leave it on the jacket. This type of luggage often has a hook to hang the bag up in a closet or sturdy hook on the wall. You can also hang them on hooks inside your car to prevent creases and wrinkles.
Fold clothing together; the less folds you have to make, the less chance of wrinkles or hard-to-remove creases. For instance, if you have several long sleeve sweaters and a jacket, place them in your suitcase last. Items on top are less likely to have creases. Fold all the sleeves over the chest area of the items and fold up the bottom third of the clothing to make it fit the suitcase. This helps minimize wrinkling and is called interfolding or bundle wrapping.
Use tissue paper or plastic dry cleaning bags between the folds in your jacket to reduce chances of wrinkles.
Stuff tissue paper or plastic bags inside the sleeves of your jacket and then fold them over the chest area of the jacket. This cushions the sleeves from unnecessary creases. You can also use the same method to stuff the chest and hip area of the jacket if you have plenty of room in your luggage.
