In 1952, Florida resident J. B. Turberville decided to convert his 70 acres of farmland into a manufactured home park. Now the park is run by Piney Point Homeowners Inc. as a nonprofit cooperative in Palmetto, Florida, that houses 381 spaces on 72 acres. Available to those over the age of 55, eligibility for a space requires the interested party to purchase a membership certificate that would give them a proprietary leasehold interest in Piney Point. For information about the cost to purchase a certificate you must contact the main office, as they do not publish this information online.
