For many retirees looking to move to warmer a climate, mobile home co-ops and communities offer affordable housing with a variety of amenities such as pools and tennis courts that would not possible outside of the cooperative environment. Most mobile home co-ops are specifically designed as active adult communities for ages 55 and up.

    • The Old Bridge Village Co-op is located on the Caloosahatchee River on Florida's Southwest Coast. Among the amenities offered include Tennis, Shuffleboard, Ping Pong, Horseshoes, Bocce, Billiards and Putting Greens as well as a private marina with boat launch. Homes start at around $25,000, with more luxury models costing upwards of $80,000.

    • The Paradise Island Co-op is located on the Gulf Coast of Florida in the Tampa Bay Area with gulf beaches and world class golf courses nearby. The Co-op features over 800 mobile home units with swimming pool, hot tub and other services such as a fitness and recreation center. Homes are pre-manufactured to include two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
