St. Augustine, on Florida’s northern Atlantic coast, is one of the state’s oldest cities. In 1513, Ponce de Leon landed at what is now the Fountain of Youth Park, one of the city’s tourist attractions. St. Augustine is also home to the Lightner Museum, known for its collections of musical instruments, Victorian art glass and art pieces from czarist Russia. Marineland and Ripley’s Believe It or Not also call the city home.
The St. Augustine Beach KOA offers 120 graveled sites, 61 of them pull-throughs that are 60 feet long. The back-in sites are 50 feet. All are wide enough for slide outs. All sites have water and electric with either 30 or 50 amp service. Several sites also have sewer hookups. Cable TV and wireless Internet is available.
Pets are welcome and the KOA even has a special “Kamp K-9” exercise area for dogs. The campground has a fishing lake, horseshoe pits, Bocci ball courts, children’s playground, swimming pool and game room. Additional amenities include laundry, showers, restrooms and convenience store with RV supplies, souvenirs, ice and firewood. Paddleboats are available for rent.
