Most RV water heaters hold six gallons of water, but some will hold up to 10. Keep this in mind when showering out of respect to the other campers.
The water heater in your RV can heat the water hot enough to burn you. Be careful and check where the thermostat is set.
Water heaters in RVs can run on 12-volt electricity while you are out boondocking or 120 volts while you are plugged in to shore power.
Remember when running a water heater in your RV that the LP gas must be turned on. An odorant is added to the gas used by the water heater, so if you smell gas shut off the unit and find the gas leak.
If your RV is put in storage for the winter, drain the water heater and winterize the unit. Turn off the unit before you do this.
