Fill the water heater with water before attempting to light it or troubleshooting it.
Turn on lights to ensure electric current is going into the trailer.
Replace the fuse near the battery if no power is going to the trailer. You will find an in-line fuse on the hot wire side of the battery connection.
Open the water heater panel cover.
Pull the electrical connection to the water heater out to check for corrosion. Clean with a brush and plug it back in firmly.
Check the ignition connection to make sure it is firmly in place.
Check your LP gas tank to make sure that it has enough gas and is turned to the open position.
Turn on the stove in the trailer for about a minute to make sure that gas is going through the lines.
Check the burner assembly for debris, spider webs and insect nests. Clean all debris around the ignition with a vacuum cleaner attachment or compressed air.
Turn the ignition to the "On" position. You should hear a rapid clicking sound.
Hold the ignition button down for 15 seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat up and then release it.
Turn the ignition button to the right. You should hear a "Whoosh" sound.
Check the flame color. If it is yellowish, use the wrench to loosen the adjuster's arm until you hear a roaring sound and the flame turns blue.
Tighten the screw to hold the position and close the panel door.
