What are stations of the cross made of?

The most traditional materials used to make Stations of the Cross are wood, stone, bronze or ceramic. These materials provide durability and resistance to the elements of nature, especially important since most Stations of the Cross are erected outdoors. Some more modern materials sometimes used include PVC (plastic) or fiberglass, which tend to be less durable but cost-effective compared to natural materials. The choice of material varies greatly from region to region and cultural practices and aesthetics.
