Check all documentation.
Check to see if battery voltage is at minimum level of 11v.
Check to see if all fuel gauges are "On".
Check to see if all electrical and avionics are "Off".
Check to see if flaps are down.
Check the exterior of plane for visible problems.
Check to see if oil level is at minimum of 4 quarts and a maximum of 7 quarts.
Check brake pressure.
Check propeller rotation.
Check seat and seat belt locks and adjustments.
Check mixture is set to "RICH".
Check carburetor heat is "COLD".
Check master switch is "ON".
Prime as required.
Open throttle to 1/8 inch.
Hold brakes.
Start ignition switch.
Check to ensure propeller area is clear.
Pull starter
Check to see if oil pressure is full in 30 seconds.
Throttle 600-800 rpm in 60 seconds/ 800-1000 rpm in 3-5 minutes
Check to see if strobe, transponder and radio are "ON".
Check to see if flight controls are free and correct.
Check elevator trim set to "Takeoff".
Check fuel valves are "ON".
Hold brakes.
Check throttle is at "1600" rpm.
Check magnetos left drop is 75 or less.
Check magnetos right drop is 50 or less.
Check rpm drop on carburetor heat.
Check all engine instruments.
Reduce throttle
Set radio, altimeter and directional gyro.
Set flaps at 0 to 20 degrees.
Set carburetor heat to "COLD".
Set Mixture to "RICH".
Keep heels on the floor.
Pull full throttle
Climb speed at 75 to 80 mph or 60 mph with 20 degree flaps
Best rate of climb is 89 mph with zero flaps.
Best recommended maximum cruising is 2450 rpm.
Check to see if fuel valves are "ON".
Check to see if mixture is "RICH".
Apply carburetor heat before closing throttle.
Glide at speed of 70-75 mph
Set flaps to "FULL".
Check to see if carburetor heat is "COLD".
Check to see if flaps are "UP".
Keep engine idle at 800 rpm.
Set mixture full "LEAN" to stop engine.
Check to see if radios, electrical equipment is "OFF".
Turn master switch to "OFF".
Turn magneto switch to "OFF".
