As per the statistics of the International Union of Railways (UIC) for the year 2020, the Indian Railways is ranked 4th in Asia in terms of route length, with a total network of 67,956 kilometers. The top three positions are held by China (141,467 km), Russia (86,160 km), and India (67,956 km).
