How to Book Train Travel From Oslo to Larvik

Larvik is a beautiful port town along the south coast of Norway, and a mecca for beach-goers and fishermen alike (it is especially known for its salmon). A summer trip to Norway would not be complete without making the spectacularly scenic trip from Oslo to Larvik. Taking this trip on a sunny day will make for an experience you won't soon forget!

      To book accommodations, contact Norwegian State Railways at +47 815 00 888 or visit their Web site (see Resources, below). Be sure to use the link from this page to get to the site in order get the English-language version. Googling 'Norwegian State Railways' will get you to a page written in Norwegian. This could present problems if you don't speak the language.

      Select the date and time you would like to travel. You also need to choose whether or not you would like a return journey.

      Select the number and type of passengers who will be traveling. You will also be able to select whether or not you have a Norwegian State Railways customer card, which is sort of a 'frequent flier miles' program for those who ride the Norwegian rails on a regular basis.

      Select which type of ticket you would like: Ordinær (Ordinary); economy class or KOMFORT; first class (this will give you more legroom and connections for laptops and cell phones. Private meeting rooms are also available to accommodate up to 8 people).
