How to Send a Parcel Via V-Line

V/Line is one of the largest commercial railway services in Australia. It is based out of Melbourne and services most of Victorian Australia. The railway covers a lot of ground, servicing commuters, but also parcels. The service is similar to FedEx or DHL except that it is rail-based. If you need to get a parcel from one place to another in Eastern Australia V/Line is a quick way to do it.

Instructions

    • 1

Take your parcel to your local V-line ticketing agent. V-line only operates in the Victoria area of Australia but there are various offices in that area of the country, including Sunbury, Bairnsdale, Geelong and Swan Hill. Melbourne is the hub.

    • 2

Inform the ticket agent that you would like to send your package, rather than purchase a ticket for yourself.

    • 3

Have the ticketing agent weigh the parcel to verify that it is within the required weight limit.

    • 4

Select the type of service for your parcel. Since you are sending the parcel it will be a one-way service and you can choose between "same day" service or longer.

    • 5

Pay for the parcel service and the ticketing agent will give you your confirmation ticket which will have the tracking information on it. The company will transfer the parcel to their delivery service once it arrives at the final destination and it will be delivered to the address specified on the parcel.
