Choose to book tickets in a Quiet Car. These compartments allow you a serene environment full of like-minded passengers.
Pick up your hard-copy tickets at the Portland ticket counter or at one of the automated (Quik Trak) ticket machines.
Check your bags at the ticket counter. Usually, most trains only allow 3 checked bags, so be sure to pack as lightly as possible.

Stretch out in business class. For an additional fee, you can book train travel in these seating compartments that have increased legroom and more comfortable seats.
