Instructions for a Goldwing Tie Down

The Honda Gold Wing is a popular touring bike that, as of 2010, has been named as one of the "Top 10 Bikes" seventeen times by Cycle World Magazine. (See Reference One) Yet, even though the Gold Wing is designed to travel long distances, there may be times when you need to transport your Gold Wing on a trailer with tie downs. This is an easy process, and if done correctly, can keep your bike secure and safe during transport.

Instructions

  1. Tie Down Your Gold Wing

    • 1

Wrap your nylon loops through the front and rear case guards on each side of your Gold Wing.

    • 2

Move your Gold Wing onto the trailer and put it on its side stand.

    • 3

Attach your ratchet tie downs to the nylon loops.

    • 4

Attach the other ends of the ratchet tie downs to the trailer. Hook these securely to the solid mounting points on your trailer.

    • 5

Pull down on the tie downs so that the two in the front pull the Gold Wing forward and the two in back pull the bike back.

    • 6

For added stability, add two more tie downs to the front case guards of the Gold Wing and pull directly down. If the Gold Wing's front tire is secure, the rest of the bike is also secure.
