How hot can it get in Santa Clarita?

Santa Clarita is known to have hot summers, with average daily temperatures in July and August reaching the high 80s to low 90s Fahrenheit (30 to 34 Celsius). However, it has experienced periods of extreme heat, particularly during heat waves, when temperatures can soar to over 110°F (43°C).

For instance, in July 2006, Santa Clarita recorded a historic temperature of 119°F (48°C), which was the highest officially recorded temperature in the area's history. During the same heatwave, the National Weather Service issued a warning for excessive heat for the Santa Clarita Valley.
