Gore Bay, located on the North Channel of Lake Huron, is one of the largest communities on Manitoulin Island in Ontario, Canada, with approximately 900 inhabitants. Tourists can visit the museum and cultural center, take in some bird watching from the boardwalk or swim in the lake. The town has a small airport.

    • Built in 1891 and restored to its original Victorian style, Martha's Inn offers five bedrooms, each furnished with antiques befitting the era of the building. The rooms share two large bathrooms and guests have the use of a common living room with satellite television and wireless Internet. The inn also has a sunroom and wrap around veranda. A home cooked breakfast is served daily in the dining room. As of 2011, rooms cost $75 to $95 per night.

    Queen's Inn

    • The Queen's Inn, which dates back to 1880, sits on the waterfront of Gore Bay. It has eight guestrooms, each with a private bathroom, cable television and wireless Internet. The building retains its original porches on both the upper and lower floors. Breakfast, served in the dining room, consists of freshly baked bread and muffins as well as pancakes and cereals. As of 2011, rates start at $85 for a single room and $115 for a double.

    Evergreen Resort

    • Located east of Gore Bay, Evergreen Resort sits beside Ice Lake and offers a choice of motel rooms and cottages. All rooms and cottages have satellite televisions and private bathrooms. Cottages sleep two to six guests. Recreation includes swimming and fishing in the lake. The resort is near tennis courts, golf courses and hiking trails. As of 2011, rooms start at $115 per night and cottages $250.

    Gordon's Lodge

    • Gordon's Lodge is set in 21 acres of land and overlooks Gore Bay. The lodge has 25 motel-style rooms and eight cottages, all with cable television and Internet access. The lodge also has its own restaurant, which serves breakfast and evening meals that include steaks, pasta and local seafood. The lodge also has a secluded beach for swimming or fishing. A licensed bar is onsite.
