Open year-round, Steamboat Campground offers 70 camp sites for RVs, 10 located on pavement and 60 on gravel. The sites include 33 pull-through spots sized 30 by 60 feet and 27 back-in spots sized 20 by 40 feet. All sites have full hookup with Wi-Fi and cable, though some are side-by-side, meaning two vehicles share a station. The campground also offers tent spots, rental RV sites and all-weather cabins. Amenities on the property include restrooms and showers, a waste dump, public telephone, laundry facilities and a convenience store that sells groceries and RV supplies. The campground also has an in-ground pool for the summer of months, access to the Yampa River for fishing, a horseshoe pit and playground. Pets are welcome.

A popular local attraction, Strawberry Park Hot Springs is 104-degree mineral water pool which is surrounded by forest. The park offers a variety of camping accommodations, such as two-story and one-room cabins that sleep two to four people and are available year-round. In the summer, visitors can also stay in covered wagons or tent sites. Changing cabins, picnic areas, barbecue grills, fire pits, restrooms and beverage vending machines are available at the campground; the park is not suited for RVs. Payment for rentals are cash only; no credit cards are accepted. Pets are not allowed at the park.

Routt National Forest is a national park that extends from northern Colorado into Wyoming. The area provides excellent fishing, hiking, rafting, kayaking, off-roading, wild-life watching, hunting, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. In the Steamboat Springs area of the park, the National Forest Service offers six public campgrounds. Of the six, Hinman, Meadows and Dumont Lake have accommodations for recreational vehicles with a total of 16 pull-through sites and 41 back-ins; however, there are no hookups or dump stations available. These three RV campgrounds and the three additional sites (Hahn's Peek, Seedhouse and Walton Creek) also feature a limited number of tent sites. Toilets are located at each camp site. There are no reservations accepted at Routt National Forest and most of the campgrounds have 14-day maximum stays.
