Wanderlust World Wanderlust World United Campground is located on the banks of the Animas River. The campground has more than 100 RV sites, all with full utility hook-ups. There are also 90 tent camping sites, set on grass, and plenty of shade trees. United Campground offers pull-through spaces, a laundry room, complimentary cable TV, wireless Internet access, a heated swimming pool, hot showers for registered guests, and a game room. Guests can fish on the Animas River with a state fishing license. Pets are welcome. United Campground is also located close to fishing outfitters, two semi-private golf courses, the Navajo and Vallecito reservoirs, and local cafes and restaurants.

Covering 27 acres in a mountain setting, Lightner Creek Campground rents not only RV sites, but also cabin and lodge rooms. Many of the sites have full electrical, water and sewer hook-ups. Some sites are pull-through. The campground has barbecue grills, a heated swimming pool, a game room, picnic tables, a basketball court, horseshoe pits, and a playground. Guests can take hot showers and buy ice, bottles of propane, and groceries on-site. Public telephones are also available.

Durango KOA Campground is located at an altitude of 7,000 feet. It offers views of the San Juan Mountains, and local outfitters offer kayak and whitewater rafting trips on the Animas River. The Durango KOA Campground has many park activities, including movie nights and ice cream gatherings. The campground has its own billiards table and swimming pool, and it is close to fishing, hiking, biking and horseback riding. The KOA rents not only RV sites, but also one- and two-room cabins and a deluxe cottage. Free wireless Internet and cable TV are available, and the campground provides a snack bar, pavilion, gas and firewood sales, and a mini-golf course. The KOA is pet-friendly, although it is best to call ahead when making reservations to ensure that the pet limit for the campground has not already been reached.
