What are the two zones in pelagic environment?

The pelagic environment is divided into two main zones:

1. Epipelagic zone: This is the upper layer of the pelagic environment, which is closest to the surface and receives the most sunlight. This zone includes the sunlit upper layer of the ocean, extending from the surface to about 200 meters (660 feet). 2. Mesopelagic zone: This is the middle layer of the pelagic environment, which is below the epipelagic zone and extends down to about 1,000 meters (3,280 feet). It is characterized by cold, dark waters and is home to a variety of deep-sea creatures such as jellyfish, squid, and bioluminescent fish.
