Youth Hostels in Kingston, Ontario

Kingston and surrounding areas offer a variety of accommodations available for backpackers and young travelers looking for cheap housing. Although these hostels and bed and breakfasts differ in accommodations and rate, most offer basic rooms with communal bathrooms. Rates are typically less expensive for travelers who book well in advance.
  1. Queen's University Residence

    • Housed in the dormitories used by students at Queen's University, this bed and breakfast hosts travelers from May until the end of August. As of February 2011, rates are $45 CAD for a single room and $60 CAD for a double room. The rooms share "semi-private" bathrooms located on each hall and contain basic furniture including a desk and chair.

    Alexander Henry Bed and Breakfast

    • This bed and breakfast is situated aboard a stationary vessel in Kingston. Alexander Henry features a variety of cabin-turned-rooms which vary in rate based on size and view. The ship is open to visitors during the day starting at 10 a.m.

    An Enchanted Garden on Collins Creek

    • An Enchanted Garden is a more upscale three-room bed and breakfast. The rooms are all single or double occupancy, but two of the three share a bathroom. As of February 2011, the two that share a bathroom are $119 CAD a night, while the room with its own bathroom is $139 CAD a night. Each room features wireless Internet, and guests have access to a living room and kitchen.

    The Royal Albert Bed and Breakfast

    • The Royal Albert is located adjacent to Queen's University and features four Victorian-style rooms. Bathrooms are shared and wireless Internet is available. This bed and breakfast was recently renovated.
