Merrickville-Wolford, in eastern Ontario, promotes itself as the "Jewel of the Rideau." The Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, splits the village at the Blockhouse, itself a National Historic Site of Canada. Merrickville was founded in the late 1700s; the village of Wolford was united with Merrickville in the late 1990s, creating the new Merrickville-Wolford. Many of the accommodation options in the village are bed and breakfasts.
The Wolford House Bed and Breakfast is a three-room inn. Each room features pine antiques and has its own bathroom. The B&B at 142 Rideau is a three-room bed and breakfast with double, queen or king room options. Every bedroom features 100 percent Egyptian cotton linens, and guests may use complimentary robes and slippers. Bathrooms are shared at the bed and breakfast. There is a pool and garden area on-site, and activities such as shopping, art galleries and crafts are within a several minute walk. The bed and breakfast shuts down for the season sometime in late fall each year.
The Baldachin Inn is found in the center of Merrickville-Wolford. The inn's 11 rooms are split between a bridal suite, junior suites with whirlpools and fireplaces, twin bedrooms and queen bedrooms. Pets may stay with owners for an extra daily fee. Baldachin often has guest packages, such as pairing rooms with wine and dinner, glass blowing classes, fitness center passes and even psychic readings. The inn has a pub attached, as well as a fancier dining room. The inn is close to walking trails and antiquing.

One bedroom has both a queen-size bed and a pullout sofa to accommodate extra guests. The bathrooms are private. Some come with antique claw tubs, while another has a whirlpool. Breakfast options include standard fare, plus vegetarian, gluten-free and organic food. Millisle Bed & Breakfast has a wraparound porch that overlooks the Rideau Waterway Lock 21.
