Motels in DuBoise, Pennsylvania

DuBois is a small city in northern Pennsylvania, located about 90 miles to the northeast of Pittsburgh. The town, originally Rumbarger, was renamed after a local timber tycoon, John DuBois. In fact the town has prospered and grown from the profusion of natural resources in the region, and the hardwood industry continues to be of great importance to the region, which is home to one of the most important hardwood forests in North America. The region is also important for the mining of bituminous coal, natural gas and more recently for drilling in the Marcellus Shale locations.

    • There's plenty to do and see when you stay at the Hampton Inn in DuBois. There are no less than seven wineries on the local Groundhog Wine Trail and just 20 miles away you can visit the best known groundhog of all -- Punxsutawney Phil, who you'll find at Gobbler's Knob & Groundhog Zoo. Hampton Inn offers a variety of rooms, 96 in total, with all of the usual amenities. They come with complimentary breakfast and beverages, a fitness room and a pool. Local restaurants that you can make use of include Ruby Tuesday and the Ponderosa.

    Best Western Inn

    • The Best Western Inn and Conference Center is located in central DuBois, where the hotel offers 55 comfortable guest rooms, all of which come with all of the usual amenities, including a complimentary breakfast. There is also a fitness center in the hotel. Golfers staying at Best Western will enjoy a round at either the Dubois Country Club or at the Scottish Heights Golf Club, both within two miles of the hotel. Treasure Lake, also just two miles away to the north of town, is a favorite spot for all types of water sports or for just relaxing and watching the sun go down.

    Clarion Hotel

    • The Clarion is located on Interstate 80, just outside of the town center. While staying here be sure to visit TJ's Restaurant and Lounge, an on-site restaurant with a delicious menu. Room service is also available should you so wish. The DuBois-Jefferson Regional Airport is just nine miles away to the west along I-80. There are lots of activities to indulge in while staying at the Clarion. There are no less than five golf courses close by, including the Beechwood Golf Course and the Gold and Silver Courses at Treasure Lake, two miles to the north of town. Try out the local Rails-to-Trails network's Little Toby Creek Trail for some spectacular hiking.

    Holiday Inn Express

    • Holiday Inn Express goes a step further than the usual motel, Rather than the now common complimentary continental breakfast you can visit their Express Start breakfast bar and enjoy a good cooked breakfast of eggs and bacon along with cinnamon rolls. If you arrive here after a long flight or drive, stretch your legs at the nearby SB Elliott State Park or in the Clear Creek State Forest. There's a large shopping mall on Route 255 at the eastern edge of town where all of the big stores such as Wal-Mart, Old Navy and Sears can be found.
