Waynesboro, Mississippi, is an easy drive from larger cities such as Jackson and Mobile, Alabama. Although the town has fewer than 6,000 residents, travelers will find a variety of lodging, shopping and dining establishments. Entertainment options include the Bok Homa Casino, a 27,000-square-foot gaming facility owned by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

The Inn is located on Mississippi Drive, Waynesboro's main thoroughfare. The town's commercial district is less than one mile south of the hotel and offers a variety of restaurants, including Peking Chinese Buffet and Bumper's Drive In, which serves American-style fast food.

    • The 23-room Lakeview Motel is adjacent to a fishing pond on the southern end of Waynesboro. This small motel offers basic rooms with microwaves, telephones and televisions.     Things to Do

    • The Waynesboro area is home to seven city and county parks with recreation facilities. Maynor Creek Water Park is six miles west of town, off Highway 84. This park has thick dogwood forest and a 450-acre lake that fished for catfish and used for water skiing. Boat rentals and picnic facilities are available. Nearby, a 9-hole private golf course is open to the public. The Waynesboro Public Library has a wireless Internet cafe and offers a public genealogy research facility featuring free access to subscription-based genealogy websites.
