Rush is an unincorporated area located in El Paso County in central Colorado approximately 40 miles east of Colorado Springs. As of the 2008 Census, the population of Rush is approximately 750 people. Rush is considered part of the greater Colorado Springs metropolitan area. While Rush does not offer any lodging accommodations, several motel-style accommodations are located within close proximity.
The Econo Lodge is located in Calhan, approximately 14 miles north of Rush. Rush and the surrounding area are home to the El Paso County Fairgrounds, the Rocky Moutain Roosters pheasant hunting preserve and the Paint Mines Interpretive Park. Paint Mines features miles of hiking trails and stunning views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains. Golfers will enjoy the nearby Antler Creek Golf Course. Area restaurants include the Rush Cafe, Outlaw Pizza and the Hearthstone Kitchen.
