Boutique Hotels Near Noank, Connecticut

Noank, Connecticut has a rich seafaring tradition. It is a place with more boat yards than churches, and is well known for its lobsters and seafood. Historically, Noank was home to some of the largest boat builders and fishing fleets on the east coast. These days, the town plays host to thousands of tourists over the spring and summer months, who come to see its historical architecture and witness its Memorial Day parades, the oldest in the country.

  1. Whaler's Inn

    • The nearest boutique establishment to Noank itself is the Whaler's Inn in Mystic, about two miles away. The inn comprises five distinct buildings connected to each other that have a well-preserved, historical feel, and offer double or single bedrooms furnished with antiques and period furniture. The Bravo Bravo restaurant and lounge within the hotel complex offers four-star gourmet dining in a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurants and shops of Mystic are only minutes away, while Noank is certainly walkable and is no more than five minutes by car.

    Steamboat Inn

    • The Steamboat Inn is a quaint, luxury boutique hotel on the Mystic River. The hotel has a historical feel, while providing all the necessary modern touches. There are 11 individually decorated rooms on offer at different prices, but all with excellent views and some antique furnishings. There is a lounge area where patrons can enjoy free hot and cold drinks at all hours. As the hotel is located on the river, it is close to many downtown attractions, such as the aquarium and various shopping streets.

    The Inn at Mystic

    • The Inn at Mystic is a both a luxury boutique establishment and a place to bring the family on vacation. The property is divided into four different buildings, including a separate gate house suitable for one couple, and a colonial mansion, containing deluxe accommodations. The hotel features the Flood Tide restaurant, which is well-known in the area for its seafood. As well as individual accommodations, the hotel also provides for wedding and conference functions. The inn is set in 15 acres of landscaped gardens, which visitors can use all year round, and is no more than 10 minutes drive from Noank.

    Other Options

    • There are certainly other places to stay near Noank, but they do not offer that boutique individuality. In the northern part of Mystic, a little farther from Noank, is a cluster of chain hotels, including a Holiday Inn, Hyatt and a Hilton. These are all nice establishments, but lack the personal touch of a boutique hotel. Wherever you decide to stay in the area, both Noank and Mystic, along with other towns in the area, are well worth exploring.
