Although it only measures 5 miles, Blankenbaker Parkway in Louisville, Kentucky, traverses a diverse landscape, from cutting through commercial zones dotted with fast food eateries and big box stores to traveling alongside Blackacre State Nature Preserve, a 170-acre green space. The north-south parkway was expanded slightly in 2011 to improve the flow of traffic from nearby Interstate 265. There are no hotels on Blankenbaker Parkway, but you’ll find a host of accommodations less than a minute from the roadway.

Alliant Avenue is east of Blankenbaker Parkway and includes a handful of hotels. You can also grab food from the market in the lobby or enjoy a drink at the bar. Start each morning at Holiday Inn Express and Suites Louisville East with a free newspaper delivered to your room and complimentary breakfast served in the dining room. Unwind with a dip in the heated indoor swimming pool or a soak in the attached whirlpool tub. Both hotels are within walking distance of Hoops, a massive indoor sports complex with 11 basketball and volleyball courts.
Some hotels are near the south end of the parkway. All of the guest rooms in Comfort Suites East have microwaves and refrigerators, while some include whirlpool tubs. Hot breakfast is serve each morning and to-go bags are on hand for early risers. There are also on-site coin-operated laundry facilities. Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Louisville Jeffersontown allows pets weighing 85 pounds or less with a nominal fee. All of the guest rooms have kitchenettes, and there are communal barbecues near the outdoor gazebo.
