Bucks County in suburban Philadelphia has several choices for extended-stay lodging. Options include a budget-type hotel such as the Extended Stay America in Bensalem and more upscale-and more expensive--choices such as the Homewood Suites and Residence Inn elsewhere in the county. When making a reservation, ask about special rates that may be cheaper than the ones you see below.
Located in Newtown, close to I-95, the Homewood Suites calls itself the newest all-suites, extended-stay hotel in the county. Room rates for a week-long stay start at $159 a night. The rooms have separate areas for living and sleeping, plus a kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. Amenities include a business center, fitness center, high-speed Internet access and a complimentary breakfast.

Part of the Extended Stay Hotels brand, this place offers suites on a nightly, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis. Rates for a week-long stay start at $75 a night for rooms with a Queen bed or $80 a night for rooms with a King bed. Suites feature a kitchen that includes a refrigerator, stove and microwave, workspace, free local phone use and wireless Internet for a fee of $4.99 per stay. Pets can stay in rooms at a fee of $25 a night, at a maximum of $150 a stay.

The Residence Inn is the extended-stay option in the Marriott brand. Rates for a week-long stay start at $149 a night for a studio, or $159 a night for a suite. Standard amenities include a fully-equipped kitchen--but unlike the Homewood Suites, no dishwasher--plus 32-inch flat-screen TVs and free wireless Internet access. The hotel offers a free hot buffet breakfast each day and evening receptions Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Comfort Inn & Suites is a chain in the Choice Hotels brand. Room rates start at $89 a night. Amenities include a business center, exercise room, free breakfast that includes hot waffles and free high-speed Internet access. The hotel accommodates pets for a fee of $25 per stay. The Comfort Inn does not advertise weekly rates, but the relatively low nightly rate may make an extended stay feasible.
