Wachapreague is a small coastal town in eastern Virginia. The community is well known for fishing opportunities, but it also offers bird watching, boating, wetlands and local seafood dining. There are several options for lodging in the immediate community and the surrounding area is home to several fishing and tourism destinations that also offer hotels.
The Wachapreague Inn offers hotel rooms as well as a large house and two apartments. The hotel rooms are pet friendly and offer wireless Internet, refrigerators, microwaves and access to horseshoe pits, barbecue grills and free coffee and fruit each morning. The location is within walking distance of several parks, restaurants and a marina. The hotel caters to fisherman but also offers packages for winery tours and golf courses.
The Fisherman's Lodge is located five miles south of Wachapreague and it has 10 rooms but only six with private bathrooms. A meeting room for business retreats is available, and the lodge has access to a free boat ramp as well as several boat slips. The intimate setting is ideal for groups, but rooms are rented to individuals, and it also has a catering service for group events.
The Best Western is 11 miles south of the town, and it is one of the largest hotels in the area. It offers a complimentary breakfast, high-speed Internet and cable television. There is also a restaurant next to the hotel for an easy dining option. The hotel also has a seasonal outdoor pool, computer and printer in the lobby and parking for large trucks and buses. The location is less than two miles from a large marsh area for bird watchers and several marinas are located within 15 miles for boating and fishing.
The Holiday Inn Express is 12 miles from town and one mile from the Best Western. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center. It also has a business center with a computer, printer, copy machine and a technical concierge. The rooms have flat-screen televisions with cable, morning paper delivery, hairdryers and coffee makers. All of the guests also receive a free daily breakfast.
