Barncastle is a beautiful, white house with five decadently decorated rooms, along with an in-house restaurant and bar. The hotel is available for weddings and special events. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Barncastle was built in the 1880s but still dazzles guests today with a comfortable stay in the quaint, relaxing atmosphere of Blue Hill.
Located just south of Blue Hill Country Club, Barncastle offers travelers an alternate view of Blue Hill Harbor than the one seen in town. Visit Old Quarry Ocean Adventures for sightseeing tours, which include puffin watch and lighthouse cruises, or go sailing with a few of the locals. Visitors can also take a ride on a lobster boat between June and September, though those leave from Stonington, which is less than an hour away and takes sightseers through the isles of Little Deer and Deer.
