Wapanucka, Oklahoma is a very small town at the intersection of State Hwy. 7 and 48 in southern Oklahoma. Wapenucka is a town of fewer than 1,000 people and is largely agricultural. Lake Texoma is 15 miles to the south, on the border of Texas and Oklahoma. It is the largest lake in Oklahoma and one of the largest in Texas. There are several parks around the lake. Atoka Reservoir is to the east and offers boating and other water recreational activities. Also to the east is the McGee Creek Natural Scenic State Recreation Area. The capitol of the Chikasaw Nation is in nearby in Tishomingo.
