Pet Friendly Motels on Route 13 on the Delmarva Peninsula

Finding pet-friendly lodging is only the first step to traveling with your pet. It is also wise to bring a copy of your pet's recent vaccinations and familiarize yourself with the local rules and regulations regarding pets in public areas. The Delmarva Peninsula covers a wide swath of land. It is located between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, with towns and counties in three different states including Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.

    • Bring your pet with you to the Holiday Inn Express in Seaford, Delaware. Located right on Route 13, the hotel is situated near Williams Pond and just a short drive from Rehoboth Beach. The hotel features a fishing pond, outdoor grill, yoga classes and aquatic activities on Williams Pond. The Holiday Inn permits pets for an additional nonrefundable fee of $50 per pet, per stay, as of January 2011.

    America's Best Value Inn

    • Bring your pet turtle, dog or cat with you to America's Best Value Inn, in Salisbury, Maryland. The motel welcomes pets without restrictions or size limitations. You will be required to pay an additional fee of $10 per pet per day, as of January 2011. The motel is located on Route 13, close to attractions such as southeastern Maryland beaches, Wood Creek Golf Course, Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame and the Salisbury Zoo.

    Best Western Eastern Shore

    • Book a room on the Delmarva Peninsula near Kiptopeke State Park, Tangiers Island and area attractions such the Painter Gallery, Maritime and Oyster Museum and Eastern Shore Railway Museum. The Best Western Eastern Shore offers pet-friendly lodging off of Route 13 in Exmore, Virginia. Pets are allowed for an additional fee of $15 per day, as of January 2011; however, pets are restricted from certain areas of the hotel including the breakfast area in the morning and the outdoor pool.

    Garden and Sea Inn

    • Garden and Sea Inn offers Victorian charm and pet-friendly accommodations on Virginia's Eastern Shore. The Inn is located less than one mile from Route 13 and close to area attractions such as Chincoteague and Assateague Islands and the Chesapeake Bay. It is easy to clean up after your pet at the Garden and Sea Inn -- the bed and breakfast even provides waste disposal bags for your use. Pets are allowed in guest rooms; however, pets must remain quiet while indoors. Pets are restricted from the beds and must be kept on a leash while outside. If you are leaving your pet alone in your room to explore the area, the innkeepers request that you leave your cell phone number with the front desk in case of emergency or any problems.
