Port Aransas is a small coastal town in south Texas located on the Gulf of Mexico. The area boasts attractive beaches and draws vacationers from all across the U.S. For travelers taking the family pets along with them, several of the local motels and inns are pet friendly, so the family dog can enjoy the surf of the coast with the rest of the family.
The 3rd Coast Inn, is just minutes from the Gulf of Mexico and its beaches are popular for surfing and sea fishing. Hotel amenities include a newly built outdoor swimming pool and outdoor eating and cooking areas, the motel's jacuzzi as of August 2010 is nearing completion. The motel has seven rooms, some of which have kitchen facilities. The hotel allows dogs less than 20 lbs. with prior notice and a fee, which as of August 2010 is $35 for the first animal and an additional $10 for a second.

Laughing Horse Lodge is two blocks from the beautiful warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The lodge offers two- to three-bedroom, cottage-like units, all of which come with a patio area, barbeque facilities and full kitchens. Units are all non-smoking and also come with cable TV and air conditioning. A strict set of rules is in place regarding pets, the lodge only allows dogs and they insist they are well-behaved and under control at all times. Charges for dogs as of August 2010 stand at $25 for one animal, increasing to $35 for two or three pets, to a maximum of $50 for more than three.

Alister Square Inn is in downtown Port Aransas, located near local shopping, restaurants and beaches. Amenities include a seasonal heated swimming pool, and wireless Internet. The Inn offers rooms with small kitchen areas and disabled access, each room can comfortably sleep four. A number of the inn's rooms are pet-friendly, with an extra fee to be agreed with management when booking.
