Originally settled as the city of Sand Point in 1833, Port Aransas, Texas is on Mustang Island. Flanked by the Corpus Christi Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, it is approximately 40 miles from Corpus Christi. For visitors, Port Aransas is home to numerous attractions, such as the Art Center for the Islands and Nueces County Park.     • Located to the southwest of downtown Port Aransas, Island RV Resort offers 200 campsites for recreational vehicles. All of the lots feature patios and a pull-through design that eliminates the hassle of having to back an RV into the site. The largest spaces measure 14 feet by 65 feet. Full electric, sewage and water hookups are available at each spot, and wireless Internet is available. On-site amenities include restrooms, showers, a laundry facility, a waste dump and public telephones. A convenience store on the property sells snacks, basic groceries, propane and RV supplies. Guests can enjoy the park's in-ground swimming pool and hot tub. The resort has its own fish-cleaning station to prepare the day's catch. Daily, weekly and monthly rates are available.

    Pioneer Beach Resort

    • Featuring boardwalk access to the beach along the Gulf of Mexico, Pioneer RV Resort consists of 365 campsites for recreational vehicles. Approximately 85 of the spaces have a pull-through design, and the largest of the spots can accommodate vehicles up to 65 feet in length. In addition to free wireless Internet, campers can access full water, electric and sewage hookups at every lot. Cable television connections are also available for an additional fee. The resort offers restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, public telephones and sells snacks, RV supplies and propane. Two swimming pools are located on the property as well as a hot tub, shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits and a gameroom. The beach adjacent to the RV campground is popular for saltwater fishing, particularly for redfish, whiting and trout. Daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal rates are offered.

    Port Aransas Park

    • Operated by the Port Aransas Department of Parks and Recreation, Port Aransas Beach is a public park with a 75-space recreational vehicle campground. The sites are all 20 feet wide and 35 to 50 feet in length with only five lots able to accommodate pull-through parking. Water and electric hookups are available. Although no sewage connections are offered, campers can access an on-site waste dump for an additional fee. The park permits small campfires. Restrooms and showers are located at the beach facilities. Campers can fish or swim in the Gulf of Mexico, a short walk from the campground area. Guests can stay at the campground for a maximum of three consecutive days for free. Fees are assessed for longer stays, and campers cannot reside at the park consecutively for more than three weeks. Reservations are not accepted; all camping is on a first-come, first-served basis.
