South East Texas RV Parks

Southeast Texas offers a mild winter climate, which draws visitors and retired "winter Texans" to its RV parks yearly. Parks are located in the Rio Grande Valley, on Gulf of Mexico shoreline or near bustling cities, such as San Antonio or Austin.
  1. Southeast Texas Climate

    • RV travelers visiting Gulf coastal areas near Houston and Corpus Christi will find warm and moist maritime climate, which is suspect to storms during hurricane season each year. Farther inland near San Antonio and Austin, a more continental climate condition is found.

    Main Cities in Southeast Texas

    • Southeast Texas RV parks can be found located near major metropolitan areas. Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Houston all offer modern RV parks for vacations or seasonal residence. The Rio Grande Valley, encompassing the towns of Harlingen and McAllen near Padre Island, offers many RV parks catering to winter retirees.

    Winter Residents

    • Many RV travelers looking for a residential RV park for an extended seasonal stay are retiree vacationers. RV parks are available catering to these "snowbird" residents who stay only throughout the mild southeast Texas winter and early spring; many of them return yearly to a specific park.

    Year-round Parks

    • Year-round parks offer RV travelers extended stay amenities. Social calendars offer scheduled sightseeing and shopping trips. On-site senior centers or clubhouses provide recreational activities, such as golfing and dance classes. Utility hook-ups--such as phone and cable--are often included in the monthly rent to eliminate temporary utility contract sign-up/shut-off fees for the guest.
