Lubbock is a city in northwestern Texas that is a popular tourist destination. Attractions in Lubbock include Texas Tech University, MacKenzie Park with its amusement center and two golf courses, the Buddy Holly Museum (all about the 1950s rock 'n' roll star) and the Silent Wings Museum (memorializing the World War II military glider program). Lubbock has plenty of hotels, but camping is also an option at several local RV parks.

Open throughout the year, the park is across the street from the Silent Wings Museum. Of the 88 sites, 84 come with water, sewer and electric hookups. The sites have 20-, 30- and 50-amp electric service available. Both pull-through and back-in sites are also available. Children can take advantage of a playground with a security fence. The recreation hall has a library, a full kitchen, an exercise room and is next to a basketball court.

    Buffalo Springs Lake

    • Buffalo Springs Lake, 5 miles to the southeast of Lubbock, has RV sites that vary in amenities. Some of the RV sites have no hookups, while others come with water, sewer and electric connections that include 50-amp service. Paved sites are available, and the property has three dump stations. All camping areas are in shaded areas and close to a golf course and playground for children. Recreational activities include six horses for trail rides, a nine-hole, par-three chip and putt golf course, and park shelters that include horseshoe pits and volleyball courts. Buffalo Springs Lake has restrooms, showers, hiking and biking trails, and a clubhouse with an outdoor gazebo,

      a fireplace and kitchen appliances. A dock and private beach are also located along the lake.

    • The Lubbock KOA is approximately five minutes from downtown Lubbock and has a campground with RV sites in a grove of mature shade trees. Features on the property include a heated indoor pool, and a hot tub. Basketball and table tennis facilities are on the property along with a playground for children. Its campground has both RV sites and tent sites. Guests can also opt to stay in one-room cabins. The RV sites have water, sewer and electric connections that include 50 amps. Restrooms and showers are on the grounds, which have free wireless Internet available and a snack bar. Videos are available for rent. The pool is open year-round.
