If you're visiting New York City on a budget and aren't lucky enough to have a friend's sofa to surf for the week, several hotels provide a true New York experience without strapping you of all your cash since you'll probably be out most of the time, anyway, exploring the theaters, clubs, museums, historic sites and restaurants of the world's largest city.
The Days Hotel Broadway, a Days Inn, is located at 94th Street on the Upper West Side, near Columbia University. The hotel is within "easy walking distance" from Central Park, and is two express subway stops to Times Square and the Theater District. The Days Hotel also offers free wireless Internet, coffee, use of a hairdryer and safe, iron and ironing board. There's also a business center and fitness room. Guests also receive a discount at a nearby parking garage, basic TV and rooms with wheelchair accessibility, roll-away cribs, bellman service or a refrigerator, on request.
Non-smoking rooms are available. As of fall 2010, a double occupancy room is $146.46 a night, including taxes.
