The city of Flippin is located in the Ozark Mountains of north central Arkansas, approximately 150 miles north of state capital at Little Rock. The wilderness around Flippin proper is a well known fishing and hunting destination and also home to Bull Shoals Lake, the White River and Buffalo National River. Yellville, Arkansas Buffalo River Lodge is located 15 minutes north of Flippin.
