The Arizona Biltmore is about seven miles outside Scottsdale in the Phoenix city limits. This is the only Biltmore Hotel in Arizona, and it is more of a full-fledged resort than a simple hotel. The hotel opened in 1929 and has provided luxury accommodations to such famous guests as Marilyn Monroe and composer Irving Berlin, who is said to have written "White Christmas" while sitting at the Arizona Biltmore poolside.
The 39-acre hotel campus features almost 740 guest rooms and suites and 78 separate villas with either one or two bedrooms. The hotel has eight swimming pools, seven tennis courts, five options for dining and a full-service spa and fitness center. The spa offers seven types of massages, two types of body scrubs, five facial treatments and several other body and skin therapy treatments. Dining options include Wright's at the Biltmore, Wright's Bar, the Cafe, and Frank and Alberts. Guests can also take advantage of an extensive in-room dining menu.
The hotel sits adjacent to the Arizona Biltmore Country Club, which offers two 18-hole golf courses--the Adobe and the Links. Guests can rent equipment and schedule personal instruction with the country club's golf pros. The country club also offers an 18-hole putting course. Other recreational opportunities include croquet, bocce ball, life-size lawn chess, guided hikes on the hotel property and mountain bike rentals.
