Hotels in New Oraibi, Arizona

New Oraibi is located on the Hopi Reservation and approximately two hours east of the Grand Canyon. The village is home to the Hopi tribal government and is officially known as Kykotsmovi, which means Mound of Ruined Houses. The town split from Oraibi following an internal dispute between villagers over non-Hopi cultural influences in the late 19th century. Although no hotels are located in the village, accommodation options can be found in nearby communities.
  1. Hopi Cultural Center Restaurant and Inn

    • Thirty spacious rooms are found between Kykotsmovi and Second Mesa at the Hopi Cultural Center, the closest lodging to Kykotsmovi. The center's restaurant is open daily (except for Thanksgiving and Christmas) and serves American, Mexican and traditional Hopi meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A picnic and camping area are also located on-site. Guests can explore one of the 12 nearby villages, including Kykotsmovi where visitors can learn about the Hopi Nation at the Cultural Preservation Office.

    Quality Inn Navajo Nation

    • The Quality Inn in Tuba City is approximately one hour from the Grand Canyon and less than two hours from Monument Valley. Guests can purchase traditional arts and crafts at the on-site Tuba Trading Post and dine at neighboring Hogan Restaurant, which serves Mexican, American and traditional dishes. Complimentary hot breakfast and high-speed Internet access are provided. In addition to guest rooms and suites, the hotel includes an RV Park and camp site. The hotel is approximately an hour's drive northwest of Kykotsmovi.

    Moenkopi Legacy Inn and Suites

    • Built on tribal land near Tuba City, the Moenkopi Legacy Inn and Suites features 100 guest rooms and suites. Amenities include a full-service business center, fitness center, outdoor pool, Jacuzzi, lounge and garden. Breakfast is served daily in the lobby, and a full-service restaurant with American and Hopi meals is located across from the hotel in the TUUVI Travel Center. A gift shop with traditional arts and crafts is also found at the TUUVI Travel Center, and the hotel is within walking distance of various chain restaurants.

    Grand Canyon Hotel

    • West of Kykotsmovi is the Grand Canyon Hotel in Cameron. The hotel's lodge is decorated with traditional rugs and artifacts, and rooms feature hand-carved furnishings and Southwestern decor. The Cameron Trading Post is located on-site and features a full-service restaurant, a gift shop and market and a Native American art gallery. Overlooking a river gorge, the property also features an RV park and gardens that were designed and planted in the 1930s. The hotel is a half-hour drive from the Grand Canyon and was selected as a Fodor's Choice hotel in 2008.
